Have
you ever been afraid? I am reasonably sure that at some point in our lives we
have all experienced the emotion of fear. It can range from a slight
anxiousness that we feel or it can be extreme as an overwhelming emotion that
effects our everyday life in a negative way.
What
about being alone? At times solitude can be helpful but feeling all alone can
be very discouraging. When we put fear and loneliness together it can have
physical, mental and emotional consequences.
Jesus
made the statement in Luke 12:7. “But the very hairs of your head are numbered.
Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Jesus
didn’t go to the
cross to redeem the sparrows, He died to redeem us. He takes
care of the sparrows, how much more will He take care of us, the redeemed? As
we continue to grow in our understanding of His great love, fear will begin to
diminish as we continue to believe in Him.
We also have the wonderful truth that we are never alone even if
physically no one is present. The gift of the Holy Spirit is always with us. We
have the promise from Hebrews 13 that declares, “I will never leave you nor
forsake you.
So
if fear or loneliness or both of them together are affecting you, memorize and meditate on
Isaiah 41:10 which covers both emotions. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed
for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold
you with My righteous right hand.” Our
great God has a firm grip on us and every situation in our lives. Praise Him as
you continue to trust Him.
