Bypassed
When we were on vacation in Oregon, we purchased
a few items at a grocery store. You had to be over 21 to purchase one of the
items. (It wasn’t alcohol it was medicine for allergies. 😊) When I looked at
the receipt as we were leaving, this was printed at the bottom, “age
verification bypassed.” I
didn’t have to show any ID to make the purchase. I was 73 at the time so apparently
I looked over 21 to the cashier and she didn’t have to ask for proof that I was
of age to make the purchase.
Once we have asked Jesus to come into our
life, to rule and reign and to forgive us of
our sins, our verification as
sinners is bypassed.
Though we still
retain our old sin nature that wants to raise its ugly head and we all still
sin, we are now brand new in Christ. The entire debt that we owe for our sins,
past, present and future has been paid for by Jesus on the cross. There is nothing that we could possibly do to
earn this incredible gift. Ephesians 2:8-9
says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that nor of yourselves;
it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Bypassed is really not the most accurate
word but you get my point. We are now redeemed, forgiven, alive with Christ and
His peace is now upon us. So, live your life in the fact of this glorious truth
stated in Hebrews 8:12 which says, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness
and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Enjoy your week in Christ knowing you are
forgiven of ALL of your sins.
