July 4th is a day of celebration for the
United States of America. This is the day that Americans remember their
independence from Great Britain. It is a
federal holiday commemorating when the original 13 colonies became an independent
nation, no longer under the control of Great Britain.
Before placing our faith in Jesus, we lived and did whatever we wanted to, because God was in none of our thoughts. We didn’t have a day of independence, but rather we had a life lived independently from God. Perhaps there was some inkling of judgment, but that
didn’t normally influence the decisions we made. But then came that glorious day of dependence on the living God. The Holy Spirit moved in our hearts and we surrendered our life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray you have done that and you are not living a life of independence, which is a life of hopelessness with a most horrific conclsuion which will never end.As Christians, we can relate to the Psalmist as he
declared in Ps 143:8, “Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For
in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift
up my soul to You.” We delight in His goodness upon us and we desire to walk
just how and where He wants us to walk. We live our lives totally dependent on
Him, which brings about joy and peace and hope.
Have a wonderful day and life being dependent on God as
you live out Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean
not your own understanding: in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct your paths.”
