How is your memory doing? For many of us as we get
older our ability to remember diminishes with age. There are tests you can take
to see if you have early stages of Alzheimer’s or Dementia. There are many of
us though, who have good memories, but the bottom line is all of us just need
reminders from time to time.
The last few weeks have been very difficult. We all have had those times in our lives
where situations are stressful and hard to manage and many of those are surrounded with uncertainties of what to do. The last few devotions were written during those difficult weeks for me. I read them again as I needed to reapply them to my life. Look above the waves; keep your eyes off the storms and look up to Jesus. Our loving God both precedes and follows us and lays His hand of blessing on out head. The apostle Paul wrote to the church in Philippi a
great letter encouraging them in the Lord. Joy in Jesus would be a good title
for this letter. Philippians 3:1 says, “Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the
Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is
safe.” They, just like us, need to hear some things over and over again. Are
there some great truths in the bible that you need to put in the forefront of
your thinking again? Maybe you need to remember again His unfailing love for
you, His mercy and goodness that is everlasting, His care for you as you cast
all your cares upon Him?
But here is the greatest aspect to remember. It is
always the giving of praise, worship and thanksgiving to the only One who is
worthy; our loving and ever living God. Jude 1:25 says, “To God our Savior, who
alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.
Amen.”
