I had to be in Los Angles for a few days last week. As
I was walking down one of the sidewalks at night, I noticed my shadow off to
the side. As I looked ahead of my shadow, I saw another shadow of myself. When
I glanced behind me just a bit, I saw a third shadow of myself. The lighting on
the street projected three different placements of my shadow; one in front, one
alongside and the third slightly behind me. As I thought I that I started
smiling.
My favorite Psalm in the bible is Psalm 139. In my mind it is affectionately known as the
omni-Psalm. God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. He is all knowing, He is ever present, and He is all powerful. The living bible paraphrases v5 of that Psalm as, “You both precede and follow me and lay Your hand of blessing on my head.” Not only does God go before us in what we do, He is already there, He inhabits eternity. We have the Holy Spirit in us and He is walking and going wherever we go. God is also protecting us from the back stabbing attacks from the enemy.Isaiah 45:2 says, “I will go before you and make the
crooked paths straight; I will break
in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the
bars of iron. The last part of Isaiah 52:12 says,
What a sweet comfort that is as we walk these streets
called life, God is before us, behind us and in us. What an omni-God we worship
and love.
