Faith and Rewards

Faith and Rewards

Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

If someone is not trusting in Jesus as Savior, they can do nothing that would please God.  It is impossible.  They can accomplish great humanitarian feats or give all they have to feed the poor, and that will all be as filthy rags because they have no faith in God.  It is impossible to please Him because they have rejected what He has offered.  Our desire as Christians is to please God in all that we do. And we can be well pleasing to Him because we have faith in Him. Whether we are at work or play we don’t want to do or say anything that would bring dishonor to our Lord.  2 Cor 5:9  Therefore we make it

our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. We can please Him because we believe in Him.

Many stores ask if you have a rewards card so you can either get a discount or accumulate points for a prize. Scripture says He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So what about the rewards?  What do we get as a reward for believing in and seeking Him?

Perhaps good health is a reward; could be but not a guarantee. Perhaps an over abundance of material possessions is a reward; could be but not a guarantee.  Perhaps a long and virtually trouble free life is a reward, could be but not a guarantee.  So what then is this reward as we diligently seek Him.  That’s the answer, Him.  Gen 15:1  After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”  God is not just our reward He is our exceedingly great reward because He is our exceedingly great and awesome God.  Psalms 27:4  One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

Have a wonderful week praising and enjoying your exceedingly great reward; Him.
