The Exchange.

For first time travelers to a foreign country there may be some uncertainties when exchanging your money to comply with the currency of the country you will be visiting.  It is normally best to do some research and do the exchange before you travel. You want to get the best exchange rate that you can.

In the life of a Christian there is a great exchange that takes place and there is nothing comparable to it. Our sin and the penalty that we rightly deserve from a just God has been placed upon Jesus. When we surrender our life to Jesus as Lord, our sins are forgiven and we then have peace with a holy God. Romans 5:1-2 states, "Therefore,

having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Our fear of God’s wrath upon us has been exchanged with peace and a hope of our eternal home with Him.

The attitude of striving to be good enough (which we never can be) has been exchanged with resting in Christ finished work.

The constant complaining and grumbling has been exchanged with a heart filled with gratitude and thankfulness.

The turmoil and unrest in our souls has been exchanged with the peace that

surpasses all understanding.

The emptiness of life has been exchanged with the filling of the Holy Spirit and being able to live life to the fullest measure to the glory of God.

The lies and deception of this world has been exchanged with the truth of God’s inerrant word.

The sorrow of our sin filled life has been exchanged with Joy in Jesus.

Ephesians 2:13 says, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 5:8 says, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”

I pray you have all been recipients of this “great exchange.”
