Hold You
Recently
our grandson has come up with a phrase that he says from time to time; hold you.
It is not a question but a statement he makes, but he has the
wording just a little bit off. He doesn’t want to hold you, but he wants you to hold him. Whether he wants to snuggle up and show you
how much he loves you or he is feeling a little frightened and he needs the
assurance that you will keep him safe, he says hold you. It brings so much
joy in our hearts when he says, “hold
you” papa or “hold you” grammy.
Our
relationship with our heavenly Father is one of true intimacy. We have such a close relationship that we can
call the Creator and
Sustainer of all life, Abba Father, or Papa or Dad. When we call Him that in our prayers we are not diminishing His authority and honor we are just affirming that He is our Father and we are His children.

So
we can snuggle up to our Dad and show we love Him by singing His praises. Heb

offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving
thanks to His name. Or we can show we love Him by telling others about His greatness.
Ps 9:1 I will praise You, O Lord, with my
whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. Or by simple obedience we tell Him we
love Him. John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
But
there are also times when we are fearful and anxious about the things going on
in our lives and we truly cry out with outstretched arms, Hold You. When we do that
our gracious Father responds, “Fear not,
for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you,
yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Is

a wonderful week with uplifted hands saying to Dad, Hold You. He knows what you
mean, He knows what you need and He alone is the one who can truly
